swedish tradition
Swedish summer in June on the East End
We celebrate Sweden's National Day throughout the whole month.
Gustav Vasa was elected King of Sweden on June 6th 1523, the Kalmar Union was dissolved and Sweden became an independent nation. The day was referred to as “The day of the Swedish flag” for centuries and was hardly celebrated by anyone. In 1983 it became the official Swedish National Day but it was still not celebrated. In 2005 it became a public holiday and then people
actually started to celebrate.
The National Day will be celebrated all through June so that we can try out different ways to celebrate. And Midsummer will be celebrated on Midsummers Eve, as usual.
Stay with us in June, use one of our bikes and get a grab & go picnic basket or spend your day on the beach.
In June we offer all guests a 10% discount on weeknights. Valid Sundays-Thursdays in June 2013.
