Tuija Lindström

*Finland, 1950

Lindströms black and white pictures of women floating in a black lake (‘Girls at Bull's Pond’) made quite an impression as an unconventional approach to feminist issues. Our Zebra striding in front of a Manor is equally eye-tingling, with its faint surreal touch. Her daring ways led Lindsröm to be Sweden’s first female professor in photography, laying the foundation for future photographic research. You’ll also see Lindströms at the Houston Art Museum in the US and the Finnish Museum of Photography in Helsinki.
